This creamy Rich Shrimp pasta is a quick and delicious recipe that comes together in 30 minutes.

How do you cook perfect dry pasta each time?

Always oversalt your pasta water before boiling to ensure the pasta is cooked with enough salt.

Add in the pasta only when the water comes to a rolling boiling state.

Cook the pasta Al dente ( A tad bit under cooked as per packaging instructions). That way the pasta can cook a little bit along with the pasta sauce and make it tasty.

No need to rinse the pasta or add oil to the water, the trick is to add the pasta hot from the pot to the sauce.

Prepare the sauce while your pasta is boiling and not vice versa..

I have use spaghetti in this recipe you can how ever choose any pasta you may like. It is said that linguine pasta pairs well with shrimps and seafood recipe.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp butter 
  • 4-5 tbsp Olive oil 
  • 1/2 an onion minced (50 gms)
  • 1 large clove of garlic minced 
  • 1 tbsp butter and
  • 4-5 tbsp olive oil 
  • 1/4 cup white wine 
  • 1/2 cup tomato Basil sauce 
  • Pasta water (1/4 cup)
  • 1/4 cup fresh cream 
  • Japanese greens a handful 
  • 150-200 Gms Shrimp
  • To Marinate Shrimps – 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp red chilli powder, salt

How to make creamy shrimp pasta

  • Clean and devein the shrimps and marinate in salt, turmeric, red chilli powder set aside for 20 minutes
  • Heat a heavy bottom sauce pan, Sauté onion and garlic in butter and olive oil until softened.
  • Add in white wine and cook for 2 minutes and then add in the pasta sauce simmer a bit.
  • Add in marinated shrimps and cook the shrimps until curly. Check salt and add as needed.
  • Toss in cooked pasta add pasta water, Fresh cream and mix well.
  • Next add in a tbsp of butter, fresh spinach and toss it in. Cook for a few minutes on low to medium flame until until the sauce is rich and glossy.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley or cilantro and enjoy while it’s hot.

Homemade pizza sauce – with hidden Veggies

Often, we find that kids love pizza not any different from adults ourselves. I think the combination of tomatoes and the melted cheese and the bread is magical and will make you want to eat more. My son loves pizza and he wants to eat it at least once a week now a days. Being conscious of what goes in any packaged product, I decided to make homemade  pizza sauce which would be a healthier alternative. The bonus point would be I could sneak in some extra nutrition into the sauce. 

This Homemade Pizza sauce recipe, is not a regular pizza sauce but made with veggies which otherwise children may avoid eating on a pizza day 😉 i have tried 2-3 ways of sneaking in the veggies once by direcly blending and another way by sauted and adding whole veggies, but this turned out closest to an original pizza sauce taste and texture.

This recipe stores well for about a week and can be used a pasta sauce too, go ahead and use it on any pasta bake !!.

My son loved this pizza sauce and I fed him without any guilt. Now Am happy to share this recipe with you readers !

Some Pointers before you begin, 

  • You can make the same sauce into your pasta sauce, but may be turn off cooking before thickening the sauce to pizza sauce consistency. It works great on baked pasta recipes.
  • If you wish you can add oregano to the sauce while cooking, I just kept it out for this recipe as I didn’t have it when I tried. 
  • You can Half the Home made pizza sauce recipe if you don’t wish to make a huge batch, Its freezable and stays good in the refrigerator for uptown a week.

Healthy homemade veggie loaded pizza sauce – Kids friendly sauce

  • 2 cups riped tomato puree or ((1 canned tomatos))
  • 1/2 carrot ((cubed))
  • 1/2 zucchini ((cubed))
  • 1/2 red bell pepper ((chopped))
  • 1/2 onion ((medium sized, chopped))
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 tbsp parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp salt ((to taste))
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  1. First wash all the vegetables and chop them into cubes

  2. Chop the onions, and puree the tomatoes if using fresh tomatoes

  3. In a pot, add oil and add the chopped onions, peeled garlic pods and all the chopped veggies.

  4. Add a bit of salt and 1/2 cup of water to the veggies and cook until the veggies go soft or until all the water is evaporated.



  5. Cool the mixture down and transfer it to a blender along with the tomato puree.

  6. Add half of Italian seasoning, sugar and blend it to a smooth paste.
  7. Transfer the contents of the blender back into the pot with a little bit of olive oil and cook in medium flame.
  8. Add the parmesan cheese, the remaining portion of the Italian seasoning and the tomato paste.

  9. Cook the sauce on medium to low heat for about 10-15 minutes.
  10. Stir in occasionally to avoid any burning in the bottom of the pan.
  11. Your pizza sauce will be ready when the sauce is thicker compared to how it was when you started cooking it.



  12. Cool it and transfer to a clean jar and store in the refrigerator
  13. And your healthy veggie loaded pizza sauce is ready to use.
